Part of our fantastic range of military-themed cushion covers, this design pays tribute to the strong British Army presence in Lemgo, Germany.
From 1947 until 1993, Lemgo was home to successive British infantry battalions, with the Royal Irish Regiment being the final unit stationed there. Troops were based at Stornoway Barracks, known locally as Spiegelberg Kaserne a site steeped in history. Before becoming a British base, it served as a displaced persons camp and was previously home to a Wehrmacht artillery unit. At the end of WWII, Canadian Section GHQ, 2nd Echelon, HQ 21 Army Group occupied the barracks before the British Army took over.
This cushion cover is a meaningful piece for veterans, serving personnel, families, and anyone with fond memories or connections to BFPO life in Germany. A great way to add a touch of military heritage to your home, office, or relaxation space.
